Terms of Sale & Use

What you're buying, what you can do with it, and how the refund works.

Last updated 25 August 2026
In plain English

You're buying one copy of a PDF for your own use. Read it, print it, keep it forever, show it to your spouse. Don't post it online, sell it, or send it to a mailing list. If you don't like it, tell us within 14 days and we'll refund you in full without asking why.

The handbook is information, not professional advice. It's carefully researched and every figure names its source, but it can't know your circumstances, and the world it describes keeps moving.

1. Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and The Current Age ("we", "us"), of 8801 Fast Park Drive, Suite 301, PMB 1036, Raleigh, NC 27617, United States. They apply when you use this website or buy The Modern Life Handbook After 60 ("the handbook").

2. What you're buying

A digital product: the handbook as a PDF, together with the printable extras described on the sales page. There is no physical book, and nothing will arrive in the post.

Payment and delivery are handled by Payhip, which acts as merchant of record. Payhip's own terms apply to the payment itself, and your receipt will come from them.

3. Your licence

When you buy the handbook we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. In practical terms:

You mayYou may not
Read it on any device you ownPost it on a website, forum, or file-sharing service
Print it, in whole or in part, for your own useSell, rent, or sub-licence it
Share it with others in your householdEmail it to a mailing list or distribution group
Quote short passages with attribution, as any reader mayReproduce substantial parts in your own product, course, or publication
Buy additional copies as giftsRemove or alter the purchaser stamp on the pages

We own the copyright in the handbook and everything on this site. Nothing here transfers that to you.

About the stamp on your copy

Each copy is watermarked with the purchaser's email address and purchase date. It's there to discourage wholesale copying. It also means your email address is printed on every page, which is worth remembering before you forward the file to anyone.

4. Delivery

Your download link is emailed immediately after payment, normally within a minute. If it hasn't arrived within an hour, check your spam folder first, then email us and we will send it again. We will keep sending it until you have it.

5. Refunds

Fourteen days, no questions asked. Reply to your receipt, or email hello@thecurrentagereport.com, and say you'd like a refund. You don't have to give a reason, we won't ask for one, and nobody will offer you a discount to change your mind. The money returns by the route it came, usually within a few business days depending on your bank.

If you're in the UK or EU, your statutory right to cancel a digital purchase normally ends once the download begins. Our own policy above runs for fourteen days regardless, so whichever of the two is better for you is the one that applies.

6. What the handbook is, and isn't

The handbook is provided for general information and education only. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice, and buying or reading it creates no professional relationship of any kind. We are not attorneys, financial advisers, or medical practitioners.

For any decision affecting your health, your money, or your legal rights, consult a qualified professional who knows your particular circumstances.

Every statistic, rule, and procedure in the handbook was checked against a named primary source at the time of writing, and those sources are identified in the text so you can verify them. But technology, laws, regulations, prices, telephone numbers, web addresses, and menu locations change — sometimes quickly, and usually without notice. Nothing in the handbook should be relied on as current without checking the underlying source. Corrections and updated links are kept on this site.

7. Third parties

The handbook names companies, products, services, government agencies, and websites. None of those mentions is an endorsement, none of them is a paid placement, and we received no compensation of any kind for any mention. We have no control over third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or what they do with your information.

8. Results

Where the sales page describes possible savings, those figures come from the published sources named alongside them and describe typical charges — not a promise about your household. What you actually save depends on your provider, your plan, your existing arrangements, and what you choose to do. Some readers will save a great deal. Some will save nothing because they were already doing it.

9. Limitation of liability

We provide the handbook and this site in good faith and with considerable care, but "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the handbook. Our total liability to you, on any basis, is limited to the amount you paid us.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

10. Acceptable use of this site

Please don't attempt to break into the site, scrape it wholesale, or use it to distribute anything unlawful. We may withdraw access if you do.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you bought. Changes take effect when posted, and the date at the top will tell you when that was.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction — except where the law of the country you live in gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, which it may.

Ask us before you buy rather than after. We'd far rather answer a question than process a refund for something that was never going to be right for you.
