Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we don't, and how to make us delete it.

Last updated 25 August 2026
In plain English

We collect very little. If you buy the handbook, our payment provider handles your card details and we never see them. There is no newsletter sign-up on this site and no mailing list — the only way we get your email address is if you buy the handbook or write to us. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their own marketing, and we never will. You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time, and we'll do it.

The rest of this page is the same commitment written out properly, because a policy that only exists in summary isn't much of a policy. It's written in plain language on purpose — Chapter 13 of the handbook is about companies that bury this sort of thing, and we'd be hypocrites.

Who we are

The Current Age, of 8801 Fast Park Drive, Suite 301, PMB 1036, Raleigh, NC 27617, United States, is responsible for the personal information described on this page. We are the "data controller" if you're in the UK or EU, and the "business" if you're in California.

You can reach us at any time at hello@thecurrentagereport.com.

What we collect, and why

WhatWhenWhy
Your email address If you buy the handbook, or if you write to us To deliver your download and your receipt, and to answer you
Your name, if you give it At checkout, or if you email us To address you properly and find your order if you need help
Order details — what you bought, when, the amount, and the country used for tax When you buy To deliver the product, honour refunds, and meet tax and accounting obligations
Correspondence If you email us To answer you, and to keep a record of what was agreed
Basic technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited Automatically, when you visit Security, and to know whether the site is working
What we never receive

Your card number. Payment is processed by Payhip and its payment partners. Your card details go to them, not to us. We can see that a payment succeeded and for how much. We cannot see your card number, and we could not charge it again if we wanted to.

Who else is involved

Running a website and selling a file means a small number of companies handle information on our behalf. Each is bound to use it only to provide their service to us. They are:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done so and have no plans to. There is no advertising network on this site and no tracking pixel.

A note about the PDF you receive

Each copy of the handbook is stamped with the purchaser's email address and the date of purchase. This is a deterrent against wholesale copying, and it means we can identify where a leaked copy came from. It also means the file you receive contains your email address — worth knowing before you forward it to someone.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own. Two things you should know:

We run no analytics of any kind. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Plausible, no Fathom, nothing. We do not know which pages you looked at or how long you stayed. If that changes we will say so on this page and date the change.

How long we keep things

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Email hello@thecurrentagereport.com and say what you want. We'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner, and we won't charge you or make you explain why. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

If you're in California

You have the rights above under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months. You may use an authorised agent; we may ask for proof of their authority.

Separately, and unrelated to us — California residents can now delete their information from every registered data broker in the state with one request at privacy.ca.gov. Chapter 13 explains how.

If you're in the UK or the EU

Our lawful bases are: contract (to deliver what you bought), consent (for marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time), legal obligation (tax records), and legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and answering your messages). You also have the right to data portability, to object to processing, and to complain to your supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Some of the companies listed above are based in the United States, so your information may be processed there under the standard contractual protections those companies provide.

Children

This site and the handbook are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We keep what little we hold on reputable services protected by strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication — the same measures Chapter 5 recommends to you. No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority within the time the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material we'll update the date at the top and, where the change affects you meaningfully, say so in an email. Previous versions are available on request.

Questions about any of this?

hello@thecurrentagereport.com

A real person answers, usually the same day. If something here is unclear, that's our fault and we'd like to fix the wording.
